What Led to the NEET UG 2026 Cancellation?

NEET UG 2026 was cancelled after allegations surfaced that a leaked “guess paper” had strong similarities with the actual examination questions. The controversy rapidly spread across the country, triggering concerns over the integrity, security, and fairness of the examination process.

After the allegations came to light, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) began investigating the case. Reports suggest that several arrests have already been made while search operations continue in multiple states.

Students Face Anxiety and Uncertainty

For lakhs of NEET aspirants, the cancellation has created anxiety, disappointment, and uncertainty. Many students had already begun planning for counselling and admissions after appearing for one of India’s toughest entrance examinations.

Students and parents are now awaiting official updates regarding fresh admit cards, revised exam instructions, and counselling schedules for the re-examination process.

Demand for Greater Transparency

The controversy has triggered strong legal and political responses across the country. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has reportedly moved the Supreme Court, requesting independent oversight of the NEET UG 2026 re-exam process to maintain transparency and fairness.

Meanwhile, students have been advised to follow only official notifications issued by the NTA and verified government platforms for updates related to the NEET UG 2026 re-examination.
