Amid growing discussion around alleged irregularities in NEET UG 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official response addressing the situation. The statement was issued after the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) initiated action related to the case.
In its clarification, the NTA maintained that the NEET UG 2026 exam conducted on 3 May took place smoothly and according to planned procedures. The agency also highlighted that a range of high-level security systems and monitoring measures were in place during the examination to protect the credibility and transparency of the process.
In its official statement, the NTA said that NEET UG 2026 question papers were moved in GPS-monitored vehicles and carried unique watermark identifiers that could be traced. The agency also stated that examination centres were kept under AI-supported CCTV surveillance through a central monitoring system.
NTA further confirmed that biometric checks were completed for all candidates, while 5G jammers remained active at exam centres during the test.
According to the agency, the examination was conducted smoothly and as scheduled across all centres on the exam day.
The NTA stated that it received information related to suspected malpractice activities connected to NEET UG 2026 on the late evening of 7 May 2026, four days after the examination was conducted.
The agency said these inputs were forwarded to central agencies on the morning of 8 May 2026 for independent investigation and further action.
In its statement, NTA also appreciated the efforts of law enforcement authorities, including the recent detentions reported in the media. The agency added that it is extending full support to investigators by sharing examination-related records and technical assistance.
NTA has said that the matter is still being examined by the concerned agencies and that the complete facts will become clear after the investigation concludes. The agency also noted that it will not speculate or make comments about the possible outcome at this stage.
The statement reassured students and parents that the dedication and credibility of genuine NEET aspirants remain fully respected.
NTA has further appealed to candidates and families to remain patient while the investigation process continues. The agency added that any required measures will be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education, if necessary.
With the investigation still in progress, students and parents are closely awaiting official clarity from the concerned authorities. NTA has maintained that the interests of genuine NEET aspirants will be safeguarded and that any necessary decisions will be taken transparently in coordination with the Ministry of Education.
