NEET-UG 2025: NTA Clarifies Updated Exam Pattern

On 25th January 2025, the National Testing Agency issued an important public notice for NEET-UG 2025 candidates, clarifying changes regarding the examination pattern and duration. 

In a significant update, the NTA has confirmed that the NEET-UG 2025 will revert back to its old question paper format, marking the removal of Section B and the optional questions introduced during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Candidates will now face a total of 180 mandatory questions across three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. 

NEET-UG 2025 Exam Pattern: Key Highlights 

  • Question Paper Format: The exam will feature 180 mandatory questions- 45 each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions from Biology. The option to select from the Section B, which was temporarily introduced will no longer be available.
     
  • Examination Duration: Candidates will have 180 minutes to attempt 180 questions, the same as the pre-COVID duration.

This change has been introduced to bring consistency back to the examination process and prepare students based on the traditional structure. Candidates are encouraged to adapt their preparation strategies.
