The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched the NEET UG 2026 registration on its official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Aspirants can now apply for the medical entrance exam to pursue courses such as MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and B.Sc. Nursing. Registration is open from February 8 to March 8, 2026. Check below for the important verification updates and the documents checklist you need before applying.
For the first time in NEET history, the NTA requires Aadhaar-based eKYC for identity verification during registration. Students must use their Aadhaar-linked mobile number and details to verify their identity before submitting the form. This measure ensures a more secure process and helps prevent fake or duplicate applications.
NEET UG 2026 introduces a new rule requiring applicants to capture a live photograph during the online registration. Pre-uploaded or old photos will not be accepted. The live image is matched with the Aadhaar photo, and if there’s a mismatch, candidates must submit a valid supporting certificate. This measure strengthens verification and prevents impersonation.
The NTA requires all NEET UG 2026 applicants to have their Aadhaar details and category certificates fully updated. Only documents that meet the specified requirements will be accepted during the application process.
Incorrect photo or signature dimensions are a leading cause of NEET UG 2026 application rejections. Make sure to follow the specified size and format requirements carefully.
