The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important advisory for students who are planning to appear for NEET UG 2026. The main aim of this notice is to help students avoid problems during the application process by asking them to check and update their important documents in advance.
NEET UG is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India, and even a small mistake in documents can create issues during registration, counselling, or admission. Keeping this in mind, NTA has urged students to prepare their documents early instead of waiting for the application window to open.
In past years, many students faced difficulties because their Aadhaar details did not match official records or their category certificates were invalid or outdated. Such errors often lead to rejection of applications or category benefits. To reduce these problems, NTA wants students to complete all necessary corrections beforehand.
Students should carefully check the following documents:
Aadhaar Card
The details on the Aadhaar card must be accurate. Students should ensure that their name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and other personal details are correct and match their academic records. Any mismatch can cause problems during online verification.
UDID Card (For PwD Candidates)
Students applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must have a valid UDID (Unique Disability ID) card. The card should be updated and active at the time of application.
Category Certificates
Candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and EWS must make sure their category certificates are valid as per current government rules. Old or expired certificates may not be accepted during counselling.
By verifying documents in advance, students can:
Early preparation also allows students to focus fully on exam preparation once the registration process begins.
NTA has advised students to follow only official sources and government websites for document updates and corrections. Students should regularly check official notifications to stay informed about NEET UG 2026.
