NEET UG 2026 Correction Window Now Active: Candidates Get Limited Time to Update Application Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the NEET UG 2026 application correction window, giving candidates a short opportunity to edit specific details in their submitted forms. Students who have already completed the registration process can now review and modify their applications between March 12 and March 14, 2026, through the official NEET portal.

The correction facility opened at 12:00 PM on March 12 and will remain available until 11:50 PM on March 14, 2026. After this deadline, the application forms will be locked permanently, and no further edits will be allowed.

NEET UG remains the largest medical entrance examination in India, serving as the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical programs such as MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied healthcare courses in government and private institutions across the country. The NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled for May 3, 2026, in offline pen-and-paper mode.

Why the Correction Window Matters

Every year, thousands of candidates make minor mistakes while filling out the NEET application form. To address such issues, the NTA provides a one-time correction facility that allows students to rectify errors before the final exam process begins.

This step is important because incorrect details in the application form can create complications later during admit card generation, exam verification, or counselling procedures.

Fields Candidates Can Modify

During the correction period, applicants can update several key details in their NEET UG 2026 form. These include certain personal information, academic details, and examination preferences.

Candidates are allowed to modify:

  • Father’s or Mother’s name, qualification, and occupation
  • Educational details related to Class 10 and Class 12
  • State or Union Territory from where Class 12 was passed or is appearing
  • Category and sub-category (including PwD status)
  • Number of attempts in NEET UG
  • Signature uploaded to the application form
  • Preferred exam city
  • Medium of the examination

Additionally, students who registered using identity proof other than Aadhaar can update their identity details during this period.

Address Details Can Also Be Updated

Another important change allowed during the correction window is the update of permanent and present address information. This helps ensure that candidates receive exam-related communication and exam city allocation accurately.

Fee Changes May Apply

The NTA has clarified that some modifications may lead to a change in the application fee category. If the updated details require a higher fee, candidates must pay the additional amount online to complete the correction process.

However, if the updated information results in a lower fee category, the excess fee already paid will not be refunded.

Final Reminder for NEET Aspirants

Candidates are strongly advised to carefully review their entire application form before submitting corrections, as this is the only opportunity to make edits. Once the correction window closes on March 14, 2026, all forms will be considered final.

With the NEET UG 2026 exam approaching in May, students should ensure that their application details are accurate to avoid complications during the examination and admission process.
