The National Medical Council allows extra attempts for COVID-19 affected batch

As a one-time-effort, The Under Graduate Medical Education Board of the National Medical Council granted an additional attempt to such MBBS students who were admitted to medical colleges during the academic year 2020-21 and could not pass their first professional MBBS examination. This decision aims to provide relief to students affected by the circumstances surrounding the pandemic. The NMC emphasized that this is a one-time measure and should not set a precedent for future considerations.

The National Medical Council recognizes the challenges and difficulties faced by students and has taken the necessary steps to ensure that their academic progress is not hindered due to unfavorable circumstances beyond their control. This decision aims to provide much-needed relief to the affected students, enabling them to continue their academic pursuits.

For further information and guidance, students are strongly advised to carefully review the official notification issued by the National Medical Council.
