As a one-time-effort, The Under Graduate Medical Education Board of the National Medical Council granted an additional attempt to such MBBS students who were admitted to medical colleges during the academic year 2020-21 and could not pass their first professional MBBS examination. This decision aims to provide relief to students affected by the circumstances surrounding the pandemic. The NMC emphasized that this is a one-time measure and should not set a precedent for future considerations.

This decision aims to provide much-needed relief to the affected students, enabling them to continue their academic pursuits.
